– Lecture and demonstration for handling recombinant adenovirus
========================================================================
Overview: The adenovirus vector has high gene introduction efficiency for not only the proliferating cells but also the non-proliferating cells and undifferentiated cells. In addition, in comparison with the non-viral transfection method, the method using the adenovirus vector can induce strong expression levels of gene of interest.
Furthermore, unlike lentivirus vector, adenovirus vector does not have an ability to integrate to the chromosome of host cells. Therefore, the adenovirus vector system is a powerful tool for transient gene expression in animal cells. Lecture and practical demonstration about handling recombinant adenovirus, including the construction of adenoviral shuttle vector, the production of viral particle and the methods for purification of recombinant virus.
Date: From December 21 to 22, 2015, 2 consecutive days
Place: BioResource Building for Cell Research, RIKEN Tsukuba campus.

– The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2015
========================================================================
This year’s Prize is awarded to Drs. Tomas Lindahl, Francis Crick Institute, UK (the mechanism of base excision repair), Aziz Sancar, University of North Carolina, USA (the mechanism of nucleotide excision repair) and Paul Modrich, Duke University School of Medicine, USA (the mechanism of mismatch repair) for mechanistic studies of DNA repair.
Almost all genes of human, mouse, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and thermophiles for the studies of DNA repair are available from us and listed in our web page.
We are looking forward to receiving your request.
