– Closure of all operations at RIKEN BioResource Center for three days
=======================================================
We would like to inform you that RIKEN will be closed for three days rom August 19 to 21, 2013 as a continuing policy for conserving electricity, energy and environment.

RIKEN BioResource Center will be also closed during the same period. All our operations regarding bioresources and all clerical work will be suspended during this period.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We would like to ask you for your patience and cooperation. All our operations will resume on Thursday, August 22.
Thank you very much for your understanding.

Details
1. Period: From August 19, Monday to August 21, Wednesday, 2013
2. Our operations to be suspended:
Telephone inquiry and email response
Processing of orders on bioresources
Shipment of bioresources
Sending quotations and invoices
All clerical work

– Luciferase clones to study signal cascades
=======================================================
For the Notch signal cascade!
pGa981-6 (cat# RDB06776) has EBNA2 response elements of the TP1 promoter. HES-1-Luc-Reporter (cat# RDB07290) has a promoter of mouse Hairy and enhancer of split 1 (HES-1). Both are suitable for monitoring the Notch signal activation in mammalian cells.

For the Hedgehog signal cascade!
8×3’Gli-BS-delta51-LucII (cat# RDB08061) is for monitoring the Hedgehog signal activation in mammalian cells. It has responsive elements of Gli family transcription factors. A control reporter 8xm3’Gli-BS-delta51-LucII (cat# RDB08062) harboring the mutated elements is also available.

For the Wnt/beta-catenin signal cascade!
pTcf7wtluc (cat# RDB02968) is for monitoring the Wnt/beta-catenin signalactivation in mammalian cells. It has seven repeates of the TCF-binding consensus sequence. A control reporter pTcf7mtluc (cat# RDB02969) harboring the mutated elements is lso available.

== Promoter Collection ==
Many other valuable reporter clones are also available.

== Mouse mutant and transgenic strains ==
for study of Notch, Hedgehog or Wnt/beta-catenin signal cascades such as Rbpj, ey1, Dll4, Ptch1, Gli3, Wnt and Apc genes are available from the BRC Experimental Animal Division.

– The expression clones of endo-type cellulase
=======================================================
We are offering genes and expression clones of enzymes such as cellulase and hemicellulase hich are essential for biomass engineering.

For example, recombinant endo-type cellulase EGII-His or EG-III-His was obtained from E. coli with the expression clone pET21c_Tr-egl2-His (RDB08289) or pET21c_Tr-egl3-His (RDB08290) which was subcloned the gene(egl2 or egl3) from the filamentous fungus Trichoderma reesei. EG2-His or EG3-His in crude extract indicated the activity at 12.2 U/ml and 4.6 U/ml, respectively (One ml of crude extract was prepared from 10 ml cultured E. coli).

== Biomass collection ==
Many other valuable expression clones are also available.

A filamentous fungus Trichoderma reesei (JCM 22676) which was used for the gene cloning is also available from Microbe Division/JCM.

=======================================================
– Distribution of common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) EST Clone
=======================================================
The RIKEN BioResource Center is distributing copies of common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) EST clones. Approximately 247,000 clones corresponding to 17,232 contigs are available.
Please visit a web site to order the common marmoset clones.
