Comment PEP of ComA PEP of S. mutans (strain ATCC No. 700610) was generated by PCR from pSMuP1 and then the single mutation was introduced into the expression plasmid of pStMuPEP1 by using primers 5'-ATCAAGCGTGATATGACGCTTTTTGATTATAAT-3' (forward) and 5'-CATATCACGCTTGATAGAGCGTGTTTCAAAGCC-3' (reverse). Reference of genome sequence, GenBank AE014133.
